Cornejo Leads International Tour to Attract Investment to Mendoza

With a high-level agenda in Bordeaux and Abu Dhabi, Governor Alfredo Cornejo led an international mission that strengthened Mendoza’s global presence, promoted its wine, energy and mining sectors, and positioned the province as a reliable destination for sustainable investment.

Governor Alfredo Cornejo led an official tour through France and the United Arab Emirates, focused on expanding Mendoza’s global visibility, reinforcing its leadership in wine tourism, and boosting investment opportunities in energy, mining, and agribusiness.

The first leg of the mission took place in Bordeaux, where Mendoza participated in the 25th Annual Assembly of the Great Wine Capitals (GWC), a network uniting the world’s most prominent wine regions.

During the opening session, Cornejo emphasized the importance of consolidating Mendoza’s reputation as an international benchmark in wine tourism and deepening cooperation with other wine capitals.

In this context, he witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Godoy Cruz and La Cité du Vin, France’s emblematic wine culture institution, aimed at strengthening cultural and tourism exchange between both regions.

The province also celebrated a major achievement: Doña Paula Winery received the International Gold Award in Sustainable Practices at the Best Of Wine Tourism 2026 Gala, reaffirming the excellence and innovation of Mendoza’s wine industry.

While in Bordeaux, the Governor also met with representatives from the Bordeaux-Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry and local authorities involved in tourism and innovation, with the goal of expanding bilateral cooperation on enotourism promotion, sustainability, and technological development for small wineries.

Cornejo also visited La Cité du Vin, one of the world’s leading cultural centers dedicated to wine, where he held working meetings with French business leaders and members of the Great Wine Capitals network. These meetings focused on the growth of Mendoza’s wine tourism and the public policies that have sustained the sector’s international competitiveness.

Expanding Energy and Production Horizons in the UAE

The second stage of the tour took place in Abu Dhabi, where Mendoza presented itself as a reliable and competitive destination for international investment.

Governor Cornejo met with Mohammed Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment and head of the ADQ sovereign wealth fund, as well as executives from Al Dahra Agricultural Company, one of the world’s largest agribusiness firms. Both meetings highlighted Mendoza’s ongoing projects in agriculture, energy, and mining, centered on sustainable development and job creation.

Additionally, Minister of Energy and Environment Jimena Latorre represented Mendoza at ADIPEC, the world’s leading energy exhibition, where the province stood out as the only Argentine delegation with institutional presence. She presented Mendoza’s potential in oil & gas, renewable energy, and green hydrogen, showcasing its portfolio of investment projects aligned with the global energy transition.

The delegation also held meetings with Masdar, the UAE’s state-owned renewable energy and hydrogen leader, to explore technological cooperation and investment opportunities in solar and mining projects in the province.

A Reliable, Open, and Globally Connected Province

The official mission strengthened institutional and business ties, positioning Mendoza as an open and forward-looking province. The delegation worked to showcase the province’s advantages and to foster new cooperation and investment opportunities in international markets.

“Mendoza has the human capital, institutional stability, and management model that inspire investor confidence. Our goal is clear: to project the province globally, attract investment, and turn that openness into growth and jobs for our people”, says Cornejo

The tour reinforced Mendoza’s presence in major international forums and consolidated its image as a trustworthy, sustainable, and globally engaged province, firmly committed to productive growth and international cooperation.
